There also comes a time in our christian life where we will have to choose God over the thing or things that are so familiar to us.

It’s all well to say that we should let go of the familar but the reality remains: the thought of having to start all over AGAIN can be daunting. Leaving what you are accustomed to, to start your life all over can be hard, but when you consider the greatness which God has ahead for us, we have to let go.

God is saying today that He wants you to let go… Let go of what is bringing you misery. Let go of what is not bringing you close to God. Let go of that thing that causes you such long tears and pain. HE says,

“Choose Me. Choose my motive and let Me give you beauty for ashes. Let Me bring you a joy that you never experienced before.”

This beckon from God is the call for a relationship with Him. Very often we are tied up in situations where everything gets our attention, except God. God wants to be with you in a secret place without distractions so that He can prepare you. There are things that He wants to show you but the very thing that you are afraid to let go of, is what’s clouding your vision.

He says:

“Let Go and let Me prepare You for the greatness I have in store for you. Allow Me to teach you because there is much I want to say to you”.

Nothing can be compared to the greatness that He has in store for you.
What you let go of in return for God can never compare to the new thing that God will reward you with.

Here are the words of my spiritual mother by which I stand by 100%:

“What you give up is nothing compared to what He is about to give you”.

The great thing is that when you let go, God teaches you stuff and molds you in ways you never could have experienced if you had chosen the familiar.

Step out into the unknown. He will hold your hand.

Just like when Peter stepped out of the water, Jesus is also calling you to #stepout. He will hold your hands just as He did for Peter in Matthew 14:

25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake.

26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.

27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”

29 “Come,” he said.

Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.

30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”
